Caps Fall 7-4 in Final Game vs Florida

I missed the game this Saturday, but fortunately it was for a good reason.  I went to the championship game of the Frozen Four at Verizon Center.  Boston University pulled a miraculous comeback scoring two goals with under a minute to go in the game.  Here’s a video of the game tying goal by BU with only 17.4 seconds to go.

Congratulations to Boston University and its fans for an amazing season and their 5th National Championship.

Unfortunately, the Caps were unable to pull out a victory over the 9th place Florida Panthers.  Brooks Laich, Alexander Semin (2), and Alex Ovechkin all had goals in the game.  Ovechkin ended the season 3 points behind Evgeni Malkin for the league-lead in total points, but finished the season with the most goals with his 56th.

Washington will face the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs.  I’ll have a playoff preview available shortly.  Congrats to the Caps on the best season in franchis history!
