Notes:

  • Toronto has one of the worst penalty kills in the league.  Look for the Caps powerplay to be a big factor in this game.
  • The Leafs have not lost a game in regulation since Feb 17 verse the Buffalo Sabers
  • Sergei Fedorov has 60 points in 60 career games against the Leafs and he has 9 points in his last 11 games
  • Toronto was busy at the trade deadline and picked up two goalies.  The first is former Cap Olaf Kolzig, and the other is Martin Gerber who will start tonight.  Gerber is 5-3-1 against the Caps in his career.
  • Michael Nylander will be in the lineup tonight after sitting out the past 4 games.
  • Eric Fehr had some comments regarding the trade deadline for Tarik El-Bashir of the Post…

“The trade deadline is tough on players because you just never know. It could have been that it was in the back of some guys’ minds, and now we can get past it,” said Fehr.  “We have a great group of guys in here, we really feel comfortable with each other and we know that we’re capable of playing some good hockey.”
